Freni (nee Krehbiel) Goering, daughter of John and Katharina Krehbiel and wife of John Goering, a former church deacon who preceded her in death over 11 years ago, was born Feb. 28, 1856, in Wolynian Russia, in the vicinity of Dubno and the village of Chortis.

The family soon migrated to Edwardsdorf and there the departed attended school and later also took catechetical instruction and was baptized jupon confession of faith in her Redeemer on May 21, 1865. She was thus taken into the Mennonite Church whose faithful member she remained unto her death.

Early in the life of the departed, her mother was taken in death and since she was the oldest in the family many duties of a mother fell upon her.

— Friends here have received the report of the death of Grandmother Freni Goering and Mrs. Lillie Waltner Schrag at Moundridge last week. Funeral services for Mrs. Goering, who was 82 years of age, were held at the Eden church last Wednesday. Mrs. Schrag passed away Friday evening and interment took place at the Hoffnungsfeld church Sunday afternoon.

Mrs. Freni Goering

Freni (nee Krehbiel) Goering, daughter of John and Katharina Krehbiel and wife of John Goering, a former church deacon who preceded her in death over 11 years ago, was born Feb. 28, 1856, in Wolynian Russia, in the vicinity of Dubno and the village of Chortis.
