Accident Last Wednesday Proves Fatal to Peter H. Wedel

An unusual accident at Elyria, Kansas, at about three o'clock last Wednesday, May 27, claimed the life of Peter H. Wedel of Galva. Together with a group of other men, Mr. Wedel was unloading a carload of parts for the electric high line which is now being build in the Elyria neighborhood.

Being dislodged from their position on the car, several posts began rolling and one of them caught Mr. Wedel unexpectly [sic] as it struck the ground. He was badly crushed and died at the McPherson county hospital after two hours of intense suffering.

Funeral services were held at the Emmanuel Mennonite church last Sunday.
