text of obituary:

Mt. Lake, Minn., Aug. 1. [1929] -- Peter J. Wiens was born on August 25th, 1852 in a little village in South Russia. During his life time, he was married three times, and his present widow has been married five times. His first wife died in 1905, his second wife died in 1922, and he was married again in 1924.

He was occupied as caretaker of the local cemetery for 24 years, and during that time completed more than 600 graves. He was also janitor at the Bergfelder church, near which he resided, for many years, until his health forced him to give up both positions. He has been in ill health and in a weakened condition since January of this year, and his end came early Monday morning at the age of 76 years, 11 months and 4 days.

He leaves his widow, 2 sons and daughters-in-law, 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and 2 brothers, one living in Canada and one in Russia, and many who learned to know him during his many years of residence here. -- Mt. Lake Observer.
