Peter J. Wiens

Peter J. Wiens was born August 10, 1865, in South Russia.

In the year of 1887 he with his parents immigrated to America and on the 4th of July came to Burrton, Kansas.

His parents found their home one mile south of Inman and here with his parents he experienced the pioneer life.

In his 20th year he was baptized on the confession of his faith by Elder Henry Toews and united with the Bethel Church.

On March 20, 1888, he was united in marriage with Agatha Entz and in this union they l8ived for 40 years 10 months and 10 days.

On the 13th of July 1919 he suffered a severe stroke from which he had never entirely recovered. He has had several slight strokes since but on the 24th of January he had a severe stroke that left him completely paralized [sic]. He remained in this helpless condition for 6 days and died on the 30th of January at 3:20 P. M.

He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, 2 sons, 1 daughter, 1 sister, 15 grandchildren and many relatives and friends.

One daughter and 3 grandchildren have preceded him to the realms beyond.

He reached the age of 63 years, 5 months and 22 days. — Buhler Review.
