Peter J. Wiens was born August 10, 1865, in South Russia.
In the year of 1887 he with his parents immigrated to America and on the 4th of July came to Burrton, Kansas.
His parents found their home one mile south of Inman and here with his parents he experienced the pioneer life.
In his 20th year he was baptized on the confession of his faith by Elder Henry Toews and untied with the Bethel Church.
On March 20, 1888, he was united in marriage with Agatha Entz and in this union they l8ived for 40 years 10 months and 10 days.
On the 13th of July 1919 he suffered a severe stroke from which he had never entirely recovered.
