Anna Wiebe wurde geboren den 19. August, 1873, in Danzig, West-Preußen. Ihre Eltern waren J. G. Wiebe und Lisette Wiebe, geb. Penner. Sie kam mit ihren Eltern nach America in 1876. Später besuchte sie die öffentliche Schule in Beatrice. Sie wurde getauft in 1890 von Aeltester Gerhard Penner. Sie starb plötzlich am 27. Januar zur Mittagszeit im Mennon. Hospital wohin sie nur wenige Minuten vorher gebracht wurde. Sie erreichte ein Alter von 71 J., 5 M., und 8 Tagen, und hinterläßt ihre trauernde Schwester, Mrs. J. H. Penner und viele Freunde. Beim Begräbnis dienten die Prediger Walter H. Dyck und C. Penner und ein Quartett sang.

ANNA WIEBE

Anna Wiebe was born August 19, 1873, in Danzig, West Prussia. Her parents were J. G. Wiebe and Lisette Wiebe, nee Penner. She came to America in 1976 [sic 1876] and later attended the rural schools in Beatrice, Nebr. Here was also baptized by Elder Gerhard Penner in 1890. After having been in failing health for a number of years, she died quite suddenly Saturday, January 27, in the Mennonite Hospital at Beatrice, Nebr., which she had entered but shortly before her death.

She reached the age of 71 years, 5 months, and 8 days. She leaves to mourn one sister, Mrs. J. H. Penner, and many relatives and friends.

"Just as I am, with out one plea,
But that Thy blood was shed for me,
And that Thou bidd'st me come to Thee,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come."

Funeral services were held January 30 at the Harmon-Johnson Funeral Home in Beatrice.

Rev. Walter H. Dyck officiated. He read several selected Scripture passages and the poem "The World To Come." A men's quartet sang "Lead Kindly Light" and "No Night There."

Further services at the First Mennonite church were conducted by Rev. C. Penner and Rev. Dyck. Rev. Penner gave the German message, based on Job 19:25, and Rev. Dyck spoke on Rev. 14:13. The quartet composed of Carl Claassen, Edgar, Jacob A. and John D. Wiebe, accompanied by Mrs. Jacob A. Wiebe, sang "Jesus, Savior, Pilot Me" and "Abide With Me."

Interment was made in the church cemetery. After the song "Asleep in Jesus" by the quartet, Rev. Dyck read selected Scripture and spoke the closing prayer and benediction.
