Tobias Voran, Sohn von Christian u. Katharina Goering Voran, ward am 15. Mai 1861 in Eduardsdorf, Wolhynien, Rußland geboren. Am 19. April 1878 ward er auf den Glauben getauf [sic getauft] und Glied der Hoffnungsfeld Mennonitengemeinde; später schloß er sich der Garden Twp. Mennonitengemeinde bei Halstead, Kansas an, wo er Glied blieb. Am 22. Nov. 1893 heiratete er Fannie Kaufman, getraut von Pred. Valentin Krehbiel und sie genossen das Eheleben über 52 Jahre. Vier Kinder wurden ihnen geschenkt, wovon eins jung starb. Seine Gattin ging ihm im Tode drei Tage voran. Er starb am 13. Febr. 1946 im Alter vin 84 J. 8 M. u. 29 Tagen. Das Begräbnis fand am 15. Febr. von d. Garden Twp. Kirche aus statt, geleitet von Pred. A. J. Dirks. Bestattung auf dem Christian Mennonitischen Friedhof.

AGED RESIDENTS CALLED AWAY IN DEATH ONLY THREE DAYS APART

Mr. and Mrs. Tobias Voran, aged residents of Moundridge and pioneer settlers of that community were called away in death at their home there last week. Mrs. Voran, 69, died as result of a heart ailment early Sunday morning, Feb. 10, while Mr. Voran, 84, passed away three days later, on Wednesday, Feb. 13. Cause of his death was pneumonia.

Funeral services were held at the Garden Township Mennonite church south of Moundridge, for Mrs. Voran on Tuesday, Feb 12, and for her husband on Friday, Feb. 15.

TOBIAS VORAN

Tobias Voran, son of Christian and Katharina Goering Voran, was born on May 15, 1861, in the village of Edwardoff in Wolhynia, Russia.

On April 19, 1878, he was baptized in the Hopefield church and later transferred his membership to the Garden Mennonite church, where he remained a faithful member until death.

On November 22, 1893, he was joined in holy wedlock to Fannie Kaufman by Rev. Valentine Krehbiel. They had the privilege of sharing life’s joys and sorrows for 52 years, two months and 19 days.

Four children were born to this union, of which one infant daughter preceded him in death, also his faithful companion preceded him in death three days.

He passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 1946, (only three days after his wife,) having reached the age of 84 years, eight months and 29 days.

Funeral services were held on Friday, February 15, at the home and in the Goshen Mennonite church in charge of Rev. A. J. Dirks.

Interment was made at the Christian Mennonite cemetery.
