A. A. Stucky, long time resident of the Mourse, Wash., community, died at his home Monday, February 2, at 9:00 A. M. He had been suffering considerably during the past six weeks from Complications.

Mr. Stucky was born August 21, 1876, in McPherson county, Kansas. He was married to Anna Flickinger, daughter of Rev. J. J. Flickinger, on Dec. 20, 1899, in the Mennonite church at Pretty Prairie, Kansas. To this union were born Edmund W., Ella Ruth, Oswald T., Dora and Mary, all surviving and living in the community. Mr. Stucky was the youngest son of Peter C. and Maria Stucky. he had two sisters, and four brothers, Katherine, Freni, Joseph, Peter, Christian and Adolph. Adolph is the only one surviving. there are also thirteen grandchildren who now lose a loving grandfather.

Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Stucky lived in Oklahoma eight years, in Kansas five years and then moved to Monroe, Washington, in September of 1911.

He being deeply interested in teaching the Word of god, helped to organize a Sunday school which was first held in different homes. As the Sunday school grew they were soon obliged to find larger quarters, so they secured the Swedish Covenant church.

In 1918 he became one of the original organizers of the present First Mennonite church. Since its organization he has been deeply concerned for its healthy growth and spiritual Welfare. His kindly advice and helpful suggestions will be keenly missed.

The funeral was conducted by Rev. M. M. Lehmann, on Friday, Feb. 6, at the First Mennonite church.

Rev. Lehmann spoke Words of Comfort on the following scripture passages; the 23rd Psalm, John 14, 1 - 15, and also on Romans 8, 8. A duet sang "Don't" in German and a quartet sang "In that Beautiful Land on that Far away Strand."
