text of obituary:

Mrs. J. B. Stucky

Alvina Stucky, nee Goering, wife of Jonathan B. Stucky, was born in McPherson County, Kansas on October 22, 1885. Here she spent her childhood and youth and attended school from the home of her parents. In early youth she was converted and made public confession of her faith, whereupon she received the holy rite of baptism, November 19, 1899, and became a member of the Mennonite Church.

On November 1, 1906 she was united in marriage to Jonathan B. Stucky. To this union eight children were born, of which the youngest was only about a week old when the mother passed away.

After the little daughter was born everything seemed to be going well and under the blessing of the Lord the mother seemed to be recovering speedily. However, on Sunday evening, January 1, at about 10 o'clock she complained of a chocking [sic] sensation. A physician was immediately summoned, but before he arrived the deceased had passed into eternity, a blood clot having caused her sudden death. Her age was 42 years, 2 months and 9 days.

She leaves to mourn her early death her bereaved husband, and 8 children. The bereaved mourn, but not as those who have no hope; for they look unto Christ who said, "He that beleiveth on me, tho he die, yet shall he live; and whosoever liveth and believeth on me, shall never die." John 11, 25-26. — Moundridge Journal.
