Mrs. Katherine Sprunger

Berne, Ind., March 4, — Mrs. Katherine Sprunger aged, 74, died at her home on West Franklin street, early Saturday morning, March 2nd. Seven years ago she became ill with hardening of the arteries. Her condition gradually became worse and for the last three years she was bedfast. Although she suffered long and intensely, she bore it with great patience.

She was born in Wayne county, Ohio, anuary [sic] 22, 1854, the daughter of Abraham and Katherine (Zingg) Sprunger. A few years later the family moved to Berne, Ind.

In her early youth she united with the Mennonite church where she remained a faithful member till death summoned her.

On December 5th 1872 she was united in marriage with Frederick Sprunger. The following year they moved on a farm north of Berne where they met with many hardships as pioneer farmers.

She is survived by three sons and eight daughters, thirteen grandchildren and one great grand child. One brother and one half sister also survive her.

Her husband preceded her in death April 10, 1914. Her parents, three brothers and four sisters have also preceded her death.

Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Mennonite church where she was a lifelong faithful member. Burial was made in the M. R. E. cemetery. Rev. C. H. Suckau officiated. — Adams County Witness.
