H. H. Ratzlaff

Henry H. Ratzlaff was born in Waldheim, South Russia, on April 24, 1852. He passed away on March 10, at his home near Buhler, kans. He has been ailing for about a year and was bedfast for 9 weeks. He reached the age of 74 years, 10 months and 16 days. He was converted in the year of 1872 and was baptized June 6th of that year and united with the Alexanderwohl church.

He came to America in the year of 1874. He was united in marriage to Louise Brun on on [sic] Dec. 16, 1896. She passed away two years ago.

Four children were born to this union, two sons and 2 daughters, who all survive. Besides the children he also leaves four grandchildren. The funeral services were held at the Hoffnungsau church last Sunday afternoon. Rev. Abr. Ratzlaff assisted and Revs. P. R. Voth and A. J. Dyck, Rev. D. D. Unruh spoke at the house. the Hoffnungsau Quartette sang several selections. The remains were laid to rest in the Hoffnungsau cemetery. — Buhler Review.
