— Word was received here that J. W. Penner, 87, passed away at his home in Hillsboro last Sunday. Mr. Penner was one of the early directors of the Mennonite (now Midland) Mutual Fire Insurance Co. here, serving the company as president from 1917 to 1921. He was a brother of Mrs. Jake Toevs of Newton. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Brudertal church at Hillsboro.
