Frau Caroline Nightingale, die Tochter von David und Maria Unruh Koehn, wurde geboren den 15. Dezember, 1863 zu Antonofka, Polen, Rußland. 1874 kam sie mit ihren Eltern nach Halstead, Kansas. Später zogen sie nach nahe Moundridge, Kansas wo sie aufwuchs. 1880 wurde sie von Aeltester Johann Ratzlaff getauft und Glied der jetzt Emannels Gemeinde. 1881 heiratete sie Henry J. Nightingale, der am 18. April 1927 durch den Tod von ihrer Seite genommen wurde. 1905 zogen sie nach Ringwood, Okla. wo sie die meiste Zeit bis zu ihrem Tode gelebt hat. Als sie nach Oklahoma kamen schlossen sie sich der Neu Hoffnungstal Gemeinde an wo sie glied blieb. In 1943 versagte ihre Gesundheit. Während ihrer Krankheit und auch vorher gab sie das Zeugnis, daß sie bereit war zu gehen, wenn der Herr es so wollte. Sie entschlief den 20. Februar 1945 im Alter von 81 J. 2 M. und 5 Tagen; und hinterläßt : Mrs. Mary Unruh, Ringwood, Okla., Herman Nightingale, Edmond, Okla.; 3 Großkinder: Mrs. Mildred Fry, Ringwood, Okla., Mrs. Jo Littrell, Ponca City, Okla., und Robert Nightingale; 1 Urenkel, eine Schwester, Mrs. Elizabeth Kehn, Meno, Okla., und viele Freunde. Das Begräbnis fand statt in der New Hopedale Kirche. Worte des Trostes sprachen Rev. A. J. Unruh und Rev. H. U. Schmidt.

MRS. CAROLINE NIGHTINGALE

Mrs. Caroline Nightingale, the daughter of David and Maria Unruh Koehn, was born in Antonofka, Poland, Russia, December 15, 1868 [sic 1863].

When 11 years old she came with her parents to America in 1874 and they made their home near Halstead, Kansas. Later they moved to near Moundridge, Kansas, where she grew to womanhood.

In 1880 she was baptized by Elder Johann Ratzlaff and became a member of what is now the Emmanuel church.

In 1881 she married Henry J. Nightingale, who after 46 years of married life departed this life April 18, 1927.

In 1905 they moved to Oklahoma and made their home two miles east of Ringwood, Okla., where she has lived most of the 40 years that she lived in Oklahoma.

When they came to Oklahoma, they transferred their membership to the New Hopedale church, where she has been a member till her death.

Her health began to fail about a year and a half ago. During her sickness and before she left the assurance that she was saved and ready to meet her Saviour. She quietly passed from this life to her reward at 4:00 o'clock P. M., February 20, 1945, at the age of 81 years, 2 months and 5 days.

She leaves to mourn her departure: Mrs. Mary Unruh, Ringwood, Okla., Herman Nightingale, Edmond; three grandchildren: Mrs. Mildred Fry, Ringwood, Okla.; Mrs. Jo Littrell, Ponca City, Okla.; and Robert Nightingale; one great granchild [sic], one sister, Elizabeth, Meno, Okla.; a son-in-law, a daughter-in-law, a number of nieces and nephews and many other friends and relatives.

The funeral was held Friday afternoon in the New Hopedale church Rev. A. J. Unruh and Rev. H. U. Schmidt officiating.
