text of obituary:

DEATH CLAIMS MRS. THEO. NICKEL OF WALDHEIM, SASK.

Berne, Ind., Feb. 19. — Information was received here Tuesday of the death of Mrs. Nickel, mother of Mrs. P. R. Schroeder, who died last week at her home in Waldheim, Saskatchewan, Canada. The fact was mentioned in a letter from Miss Vernelle Schroeder of Freeman, S. Dakota., to Mrs. Menno Burkhalter.

It was known that the elderly lady was critically ill and that her daughter, Mrs. Schroeder, left her home in Freeman four weeks ago to be at the bedside. Mrs. Nickel suffered a stroke of paralysis five weeks ago.

The deceased was known here, having spent a winter here with the Schroeder family and returned to Canada with her daughters, the Misses Helen and Lillian, on the evening after the high school graduation exercises on which occasion Miss Helen received her diploma.

Several children survive: Those who are well known here are Mrs. Susan Schroeder; Miss Helen, a Mennonite missionary who left from this place a few months ago for India, and Miss Lillian who is at home. — Berne Witness.
