O. A. Leisy

Donnellson, Iowa, Jan. 12. — Oliver A. Leisy was born February 24, 1882, near Dover, Lee county, Iowa and passed away at his home near Donnellson, January 6, 1928. On January 19, 1910 he was united in marriage with Laura Hirschler. This union was blessed with one son, Howard. He leaves to mourn his untimely departure his beloved wife Laura and son Howard, two brothers Alvin and Herbert Leisy, two sisters Mrs. Lottie Hirschler and Mrs. Elnora Hege, two step-brothers Edwin and William Leisy, all of Paso Robles, Calif., and one step-sister Mrs. Anna Hege of Sedgwick, Kan., besides a host of other near relatives and many dear friends. In his youth he united with the Zion Mennonite church of Donnellson and remained a faithful, devoted and loyal member until his death. He was interested in and took an active part in the various organizations of the church and was an earnest and willing worker wherever duty called him. The funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon and at Zions Mennonite church at 2 o'clock, conducted by his former pastor Rev. Elmer Basinger of Wayland, Iowa. The remains were laid to rest in the Mennonite cemetery. The following acted as pall bearers: Chris Berthold, George Bentzinger, Albert Lang, Sam Krebill, John Fett and August Hohl. We extend to the bereaved wife and son our sincere sympathy in their hour of grief. — Evening Democrat.
