Mrs. Malinda Koehn.

Mrs. Malinda Johnson Koehn, the daughter of Benjamin J. and Gertrude Penner Johnson, was born south of Lahoma, Okla., on November 13, 1919.

On June 9, 1935 she was baptized upon her faith in Jesus as her personal Savior and joined the new Hopedale Mennonite church of which she remained a true and loyal member until she was called to her reward.

November 13, 1938, she married Leonard Koehn, to whom she was a faithful and loving wife, always meeting the problems of life with a smile. She lived a true and consistent Christion [sic] life and was beloved by all who came in touch with her.

October 31 she became sick and on November 1 by the aid of a cesearian [sic] operation she gave birth to a baby boy, Merley Lenton.

Infection set in from which she suffered untold pain and agony. Four blood transfusions were given her but of no avail, for God saw fit to take her home.

During her sickness she was very patient and fearless, for she trusted in her Saviour and gave evidence of being much in prayer for strength and comfort.

At 9:52 o'clock Saturday evening, November 16, 1940, she breathed her last to go to be with her Saviour.

She attained the age of 21 years and 3 days.

She leaves to mourn her early departure: A loving husband, the infant baby boy, parents, parents-in-law, one brother Arthur; two sisters, Mrs. Frieda Eck and Eleanor of the home; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John J. Johnson and grandmother, Mrs. Penner, and many other friends and relatives.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. — Romans 8, 28.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben J. Johnson, and at the New Hopedale church at Meno. Speakers were Pastor H. U. Schmidt, Rev. August Schmidt, Rev. H. N. Harder. The closing prayer was offered by Rev. Barkman.

Special songs were rendered by the Meno men's quartet and a ladies quartet from the O.B.A.

Although the day was rainy, the church was filled by friends and loved ones, eager to express their sympathy to the bereaved families. May the Lord graciously comfort the bereaved families and husband, is our prayer. — Correspondent.
