— Relatives in Newton and at Furley have received word of the sudden passing away of Mrs. Gertrude Penner Jantzen of Paso Robles, Calif. Mrs. Jantzen was formerly a resident of Hillsboro and in later years lived with her son and daughter at Paso Robles, California, at which places she has many friends. Brief services will be held at the H. P. Jantzen home at 428 East First street in Newton at eight o'clock Saturday evening, June 13.

— A service in memory of Mrs. Gertrude Penner Jantzen who had passed away at Paso Robles, Calif., was held at the H. P. Jantzen home on East First street last Saturday evening. Rev. J. N. Smucker of the Bethel College church delivered a short sermon and Rev. John Jantzen of Hillsboro read the obituary. Born at Schardau, South Russia, on August 17, 1849, Mrs. Jantzen reached the ripe old age of 86 years. She became the mother of 13 children, of whom four preceded her in death. Funeral services were held at Paso Robles last week.
