EIGHTY-FIVE YEAR OLD PIONEER OF LEE COUNTY, IA., CALLED AWAY BY DEATH

Donnellson, Ia., Feb. 6. — Christian Adolph Hirschler, lifelong resident of Lee county, died at his home here Friday afternoon at 4:40 o'clock after an extended illness.

Eighty-five years old, he was born September 11, 1855, at Franklin, the son of David and Barbara Hirschler. All of his life has been spent in Lee county with the exception of four years in Washington county.

He was a life-long member of the Zion Mennonite church.

On February 14, 1884, he married Anna Refior in the David Hirschler home east of Dover.

Surviving besides his wife are a son, Ralph E. Hirschler of Donnellson; three daughters, Edna at home, and Mrs. Cora E. Abel and Mrs. Olga B. Graf, both of Donnellson; one grandson, Larry Graf of Donnellson; five granddaughters, Mrs. Florence Kuschel of Montrose, Cordonna Abel and Faylene and Doris Jean Graf and Albertine Hirschler all of Donnellson, and one great-granddaughter, Boneta Ann Kuschel.

There are also four sisters, Mrs. Mary Benjamin of Fort Madison, Mrs. Christina Krehbiel of Pratum, Ore., Mrs. Katherine Mattern and Mrs. Hulda Koller of Donnellson; and five brothers, Jacob H. of Haywood, Calif., Gustave D. of Gladstone, Ore., Oswald E. of Cucamonga, Calif., August H. and Otto M. of Donnellson. Two sisters and one brother preceded him in death. — Donnellson Review.
