A PIONEER DIES
Inman, Feb. 15. — Peter Heidebrecht, 90, one of the old residents of this section, died while visiting at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Helena Dalke, at Liberal, Kan. The body was brought here for burial, the funeral being held this afternoon from the Hoffnungsau church, east of here.
He was a pioneer settler of the Turkey creek community, locating on a homestead there in 1874. Eleven children, 74 grand-children and 90 great-grand-children survive. — Hutchinson News.

Peter Heidebrecht was born on January 16, 1838, in Tigerweide, South Russia. He was reared in Waldheim, South Russia, where his parents settled. In his youth he was converted and united with the Mennonite Church.
On Oct. 20, 1860, he was united in marriage with Elizabeth Nachtigal. In October 1874 they came to America and settled on a farm in McPherson County. A church was established here and on May 18, 1880 he was ordained as one of the ministers of this congregation.
In the year 19907 they moved to Hamilton County where he served as minster of the Mennonite Church until 1912 when he returned to Inman to make his home.
On June 21, 1914, his wife passed away. Soon after the death of his wife he suffered a stroke of paralysis and his health grew gradually worse.
In recent years he made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Peter Dalke, at Liberal, Kansas. His recent illness dated back to December 1927 and he passed away on Feb. 10, at 6:00 P. M., at the age of 90 years and 25 days.
He was the father of 16 children, of which five passed away; grandfather of 72 children, of which one passed away, and great grandfather of 99 children, of which three passed away.
The funeral services were held at the Hoffnungsau church. Rev. Peter Flaming officiated and was assisted by Rev. Abr. Albrecht of Goessel, Rev. A. J. Dyck and Rev. J. H. Epp of Hillsboro. A male quartette rendered several selections. The remains were laid to rest in the Hoffnungsau cemetery. — Inman Review.
