. . .

— G. A. Haury received a message Monday afternoon telling of the death at Reedley, Calif., of his grand father, Jacob Haury who passed away there Monday morning. Had he lived until next February he would have been 91 years of age. Jacob Haury was the father of the late G. A. Haury, Sr., and A. O. Haury, and also father of H. E. Haury of West Thirteenth, who is the only member of his generation in Kansas yet living. Besides G. A. Haury, other grandsons are Emil Haury of the University of Arizona and Alfred of San Francisco. Mrs. Haury passed away in 1919. The old home of the Jacob Haury family was at Moundridge, and they have been in California since 1921.

A peculiarly sad circumstance relative to this death is that H. E. Haury, the remaining son, was at Fredonia Monday, having been called there by the death of the ten year old daughter of his son, John Haury, who had been found dead in the bath tub in the home. The funeral was held Monday. He was reached by phone Monday evening, however, and arrived home today, leaving at once for California.

Funeral arrangements for Jacob Haury had not been completed Tuesday.
