text of obituary:

John B. Froese

John B. Froese was born in Reno County, Buhler, Kansas, on Oct. 1, 1875. Here he lived happily practical all of his life.

On Aug. 15, 1897, he was baptized by Elder Bernhard Buhler and received into the Hebron Church of which he was a member till death.

He was married to Marie Epp the 10th of March 1898. This union was blessed with one child. Their family life was a happy and blessed one, of which brother Froese often testified.

About 20 years ago he ailed for a number of years, then he enjoyed fine health until this past year he has been ill more continuously. He sought relief diligently but the many physicians did not discover his trouble for a long time. Not until three months ago when he went to Arkansas to take mineral baths did he know his real trouble. He was told there that he had cancer of the stomach and was not allowed to bathe. That trip home was one of the deepest experiences of his life.

The last eighteen days he suffered much during which time he took no food. He was so appreciative of any act of kindness and asked that his gratitude be expressed for the many prayers sent upward in his behalf and all the love shown him.

He passed away quietly Friday, June 24, at 7 in the evening at the age of 51 years, 8 months and 23 days.

The funeral services were held at the Hebron Church Sunday afternoon. Rev. P. E. Frantz officiated. The church choir and a male quartet rendered a number of selections during the services. Rev. H. Adrian spoke at the cemetery. The remains were laid to rest in the Hebron cemetery. — Buhler Review.
