text of obituary:

Mrs. B. W. Entz

My beloved wife, Anna Entz, nee Claassen was born at Alta, Kansas, Febr. 27, 1886. She was the oldest daughter of Peter and Elise Claassen. Her parental home was built under the beautiful trees on the bank of the little Arkansas river. Here she spent her childhood years and grew to early womanhood. When but nine years of age she lost her beloved mother whereupon her dear old grandmother Kroeker came to their assistance. In the year 1897 her father remarried, thus bringing a second mother into the home who cared most dearly for the children. She was baptized upon confession of her faith on the 18. of May 1902 and received into the First Mennonite Church, Newton, Kansas, of which she has been a true and faithful member. On the 21. of September, 1904 we were united in marriage and moved to our new farm-home east of Newton, prepared for us by our mutual parents where we have resided ever since through many happy and blessed years. But according to His love and wisdom the Lord has sent us also years of sickness. In the summer of the year 1923 my beloved wife was taken sick. A serious heart trouble developed so that she has in consequence been confined to her bed for almost six full years. But the good Lord has been very near unto us and blessed us. A very severe stroke for her and all of us was the passing away on January 11, 1924 of one of our youngest sons at the age of but eight months. The Lord has thereby cast new cords to direct us heavenward. A few weeks ago her condition grew more critical as the attacks of pain in the chest, that had for the first time appeared in January 1927 became more frequent and of longer duration. She felt that her days were numbered and was ready to go a the Lord led. During one of the attacks of pain that was very severe she said to her oldest daughter: "But a few more days and I shall be in the beautiful heaven." Sunday, June 23, at 2:45 A. M. her hour of relief came and she was permitted to go home to be with the Lord for she new [sic] that she had been washing in the precious flood, the blood of the Lamb and passed away in the hope of a blessed eternity. She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, three daughters and four sons, her parents, one brother and three sisters and many relatives and friends.
