James A. Ediger

Our son James A. Ediger was born on a farm near Hydro, Caddo Co., Okla.; on Feb. 26, 1904.

He was afflicted with asthma from his early childhood. This disease he never was able to overcome entirely although at times he was relieved either by taking treatments at the sanitarium or by change of climate. As a result of his affliction he was unable to do any hard work but was very able to work with machinery and in this way he helped his parents and brothers on the farm.

This summer he was with his brothers Cornelius L. and Albert Ediger in Beaver Co., Okla., where he suddenly became ill, and on Oct. 14 his brother Albert took him to his parents near Corn, Okla. The next morning we took him to Dr. Gaede's sanitarium where he received relief for a short while. But on the same day at 3:45 p.m. he finally succumbed to the dreaded disease.

When his mother asked him if Jesus was with him, he nodded his head, as he was unable to speak toward the last. He has always been a very obedient and mindful child and will be missed very much by everyone.

He leaves to mourn his too early departure his parents, three sisters and their families: 5 brothers, C. L. Ediger and family, Albert Ediger and family, Barney, Willie and Paul Ediger and a host of friends and relatives.

He attained the age of 32 years, 7 months and 19 days. We mourn, but not as such that have no hope, for we hope to meet him in the home of glory. — Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Ediger and children.
