Am 27. April 1883 starb nach 1 ½ jähriger Krankheit, die sich zuletzt zur Kehlkopfschwindsucht gestaltet, Jacob Gustav Andreas bei Halstead, Kansas. Er wurde am 29. April auf dem menn. Gottesacker beerdigt. Leichenrede hielten: Pet. Classen im Trauerhause und Chr. Krehbiel am Grabe.
