Margaret L. Sinex - Obituary

Margaret L. Sinex, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Brooks, was born in Ringo County, Iowa, September 22, 1856, and was called to her heavenly reward June 13, 1943, having reached the age of 86 years, 8 months and 21 days.

She was born again 54 years ago and affiliated herself with the United Brethren church until the opening of the Newton Foursquare church, at which time she joined there, and was a member until her passing. She patiently suffered throughout the years of her illness, and always trusted in her Saviour to sustain her.

Her husband, Joseph Sinex preceded her in death. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Mary McKinley, of Pasadena, Calif.; Mrs. Clara Calwell and Mrs. Rhoda May, of Topeka, Kansas; Dr. Lissa Yoder and Mrs. Sadie Ambler of this city, a half brother Walter Brooks, also resides in Newton.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 p. m. from the Foursquare Gospel church, with Rev. M. J. Parris officiating. Marjorie L. Nelson and Ora Thornbrugh sang as a duet, "Under His Wing." Lynn R. Anderson sang as a solo "Oh That Will Be Glory For Me." They were accompanied by Mrs. Raymond Oursler pianist. The pallbearers were Frank Johnson, Lynn Anderson, Fred Davis, John Yoder, Walter Brooks and Dr. R. N. Ambler. Interment was in the Whitewater Stone church cemetery under the direction of Dick A. Morris of the Morris Mortuary.
