Mrs. Annie Graber, wife of Joe C. Graber of Pretty Prairie, Kansas, passed away at her home last Thursday afternoon, death coming suddenly as the result of heart failure. Mrs. Graber had been one of the pioneers of the Pretty Prairie Mennonite church and community, and had come to this country from Russia in her early youth. She reached the age of 69 years.

More than a thousand persons attended the funeral services which were held at the Mennonite church Sunday afternoon. Ministers who took part in the service were Rev. J. W. Lorenz, pastor of the church, Rev. Miller of the Methodist church, Rev. P. P. Wedel of Moundridge and Rev. John Esau of Inman.

Mrs. Joe C. Graber

Coming home from a wedding at the Mennonite church, last Thursday evening, Mrs. Joe C. Graber passed away before they could get her into her home. She had been commenting all the way home about how good she felt, and had even made arrangements to help with the evening milking, but died just before entering the house and they had to carry her inside.

She had been having trouble with her heart for some time, and whle the shock of the sudden death was very pronounced, her loved ones were more or less prepared, as they had been warned that something like this might happen at any time.

She had reached the age of 89 years and some months. Funeral services were held at the Mennonite church on Sunday, and interment made in the Mennonite cemetery.
