— Rev. Peter Goertz, 84, retired minister of the Hoffnungsau church near Inman, but living in Newton for the past few years, died early last Monday morning at his home at 425 East 2nd street. Thus came to a close an active life which had shared many of the pioneer experiences of the early Mennonite settlements in central Kansas. Rev. Goertz is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maria Goertz, and 13 children. Funeral services are being held this afternoon at the Hoffnungsau church, conducted by Rev. A. J. Dyck of Inman and Rev. J. E. Entz of Newton.
