'''Gerber.''' — John Gerber was born in Switzerland December 11, 1871, and died on Tuesday night, May 11, 1915, at the Lima Hospital. His age was 43 years, 4 months and 10 days. He and his brother Karl and the latter’s six-year-old son were crossing the Ohio Electric track north of Ottawa, O., when a limited car, running full speed, crashed into the automobile, tearing it to splinters and dragging the occupants for over 200 feet. The little boy was picked up almost unhurt but the two brothers were at first thought to be dead. Both were immediately taken to the hospital. John died from his injuries the next day, while his brother is expected to recover. Mr. Gerber was a member of the Grace Mennonite church, Pandora, O., to which he remained faithful. His first wife Levina (nee’ Amstutz) preceded him in death in 1900. To this union one daughter was born. In 1905 he married Elizabeth Gerber, who with the five little daughters survives to mourn their loss. Funeral services were held on Friday forenoon, May 14, his pastor, assisted by Rev. Thiessen, officiating.
