Anna Dirks, meine Mutter, geborene Becker, wurde geboren als Tochter von Jacob Becker und Sara Dyck Becker den 18. April, 1873 in Franzthal, Süd-Rußland. A. J. Dyck mit Ansprachen. Rev. A. J. Dyck und Rev.

Mrs. Jacob Dirks

Mrs. Jacob Dirks, nee Anna Becker, daughter of Jacob Becker and Sara Dyck, was born April 18, 1878, in the village of Franzthal, South Russia. When she was three years old her parents emigrated to North America and settled on a farm six miles east of the present town of Buhler in Harvey county, Kansas. Here she grew up to womanhood and attended the elementary school.

When she was 19 years old, she accepted Jesus as her personal Saviour and was baptized by Rev. Dietrich Gaeddert upon the confession of her faith on May 22, 1893, and united with the Hopeview [sic] Mennonite Church.

On April 3, 1894, she united in marriage with Jacob Dirks, with whom she was permitted to share the joys and hardships of life for almost 35 years, when he preceded her into the great Beyond on March 2, 1931. To them three children were born, two sons and one daughter. she felt it as a hard fate when in 1902 both of her sons died within less than a week apart of diphtheria. And when in 1931 her husband died she felt very lonely and her health began to fail and she never again became quite strong.

They had made their home southwest of Buhler, where they lived until 1908 when they moved to Beaver county, Oklahoma. Here she helped along in church as much as she could and when that church organized, father became its minister, and she was faithful as a minister's wife. Her strength grew constantly less, because of a goitre ailment, and on December 8 she quietly passed from me to be forever with Christ whom she had taken as her Saviour. In her illness she would often pray that she might soon be taken to be at home with Him.

She was a loving and lovable mother to me and tried to live her faith. Her love, her life and her words will live though he reye is closed and her lips are silent. I grant her a sweet peace after a life filled with much sorrow and suffering as well as much joy and happiness. Nor "Good-bye_ but merely "Till we meet again."

She reached the age of 69 years, 7 months and 29 days.

She leaves to mourn her departure, me, her daughter, Sara, one brother Jacob of Buhler, Kansas, four sisters, Mrs. Henry Zielke of Buhler, Kansas. Mrs. H. F. Friesen, of Adams, Oklahoma, Mrs. Isaac Friesen of Henderson, Nebraska, and Mrs. John Dirks of Turpin, Oklahoma, and other relatives and fiends. Two sisters and one brother preceded her in death.

There's no disappointment in heaven,
No weariness, sorrow, or pain;
No hearts that are bleeding or broken;
No song with a minor refrain.
The clouds of our earthly horizon
Will never appear in the sky,
For all will be sunshine and gladness,
With never a sob nor a sigh.

That glory my mother has reached.

Her daughter, Sister Sara.

A short service was held at the Bethel Deaconess Home Friday, 10 A.M., the Rev. J. E. Entz and Rev. A. J. Dyck officiating, and the Bethel Hospital family, relatives and several friends attending.
