HENRY S. BARTSCH

Henry S. Barts'ch, formerly of Dalmeny, Sask., passed away November 20, 1969 in the Rosthern Union Hospit'aL He ws 92 years old. He was born to Henry A. .and Barbara Janzen -Bartsch on August 4, 1877, in Cottonwood Country, at ,Bingham Lake, Minneso·ta . He found salvation through Christ 'in his yo'uth and on June 19, 1896 he was baptized by Rev. Heinrich Voth and received into the fellowship (llf t!he Mennonite Brethren Church. He moved to Saska-tchewan with his parents 'in 1904 and homesteaded in the Da'lmeny district. On December 26, 1904 he was mar~ied to KatherinaPenner. God gave them 61 years together and blessed t heir union with six ,children, o-f whom two died in infancy, a son and a daughter. On August 20, 1966 he was predeceased [by his wife and this loss marked the beginn:ing of a definite decline in his activity and 'interest in life. During the -long years of his increasing in1iirmity at home he was 'lovingly cared for by his daug-hter Annie. In the earlier years -of his retirement, he spent much time and effurt in the distribution of Christian literature. He is survived by one daughter, Annie; three sons, David, Rufus and Henry, all oi Dalmeny; two-daughrters.in-Iaw; seven grandchildren; a brot'her and two sis1ers
