CORNELIA KOOP KLIEWER
Cornelia Koop Kliewer, our sister and aunt, was born on Dec. 17, 1881, to Abraham and Cornelia Koop, at Hillsboro, Kansas. Here she spent her childhood days and received her elementary training. For some time she worked for the Mennonite Brethren Publishing House.
In her childhood days she recognized her lost condition and was baptized upon her confession of faith in Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour.
As a young lady she was somewhat depressed because of the trials of life that faced her. In 1913, she with her father made a trip to Russia to visit relatives and friends.
About the year 1935 she came to the West Coast and had spent her time in the cities of Reedley and Fresno. In June, 1945, she was united in holy matrimony to Henry Kliewer. This union lasted only for about five years, as her husband passed away.
Our sister was greatly interested in Christian work and spent much time and effort in arranging and publishing a chart for children's work.
