PETE E. KAUFMAN
Pete E. Kaufman, son of Jacob P. and Anna Goering-Kaufman, was born Aug 11, 1896, near Moundridge, Kan. In his late teens, he moved with his family to a farm near McPherson, Kan.
He attended school through the fifth grade and then stayed home to help on the farm. In later years, he attended Hutchinson Business School.
He was baptized upon his confession of faith in 1912 by N. R. Kaufman and joined Hopefield Mennonite Church, where he remained a member until his death.
