Death of Frank Avey.

Frank Avey died this morning. He had been a suffer [sic] from piles for six or eight years, having had bad spells and then recovering. Recently his condition has been very serious, so much so in fact that his death was considered only a matter of days, the only hope being the operation which was performed yesterday morning. His nervous system was no doubt not equal to the shock and probably this was the direct cause of his death. He leaves a wife to mourn his demise. He was a member in good standing of the Modern Woodmen, in which he held $2,000 life insurance.

The funeral services have been set for Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by the Woodmen. The sermon will be preached by the Rev. H. Waitt if he can be brought from conference.

Resolutions of Condolence.

The following resolutions have been adopted by Newton Camp No. 603 Modern Woodmen of America:

WHEREAS, the great drama of life has again ended, and our brother and neighbor Woodman, Francis Marion Avey, has been removed to the great beyond, there, be it

RESOLVED, That in the death of Francis Marion Avey, we mourn the loss of a good man and a faithful neighbor—a loss that comes as a profound personal bereavement to those who had the good fortune to know him. We will ever cherish the memory of the deceased who as a citizen and neighbor had the highest respect and esteem of his fellow men.

RESOLVED, That a copy of these resolutions be spread on the minutes of Newton Camp No. 603, Modern Woodmen of America, a copy furnished the Newton newspapers for publication, and a copy sent to the widow of the deceased.
