Catherine Gerber Gilliom

Catherine Gerber Gilliom was born in Langnau, Canton Bern, Switzerland, Feb. 25, 18356, and died in Pandora, Ohio, Nov. 112, 1927, at the very high age of ninety-two years, eight months and sixteen days.

At the age of sixteen years she emigrated to this country and lived in Wayne County, Ohio, until her marriage to John Gilliom on October 27, 1878. With this marriage she became the stepmother of Mr. Gilliom's five daughters, and for many years she labored very faithfully for the family. After the death of her husband, Oct. 29, 1901, she has made her home with her stepdaughter, Mrs. Dan Schumacher.

She united with the Mennonite church at an early age and has always remained a faithful member.

The nearest relatives surviving are two stepdaughters, Mrs. Dan Schumacher and Mrs. P. P. Lugibihl, and several nephews and nieces.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, Oct. 13, at the Grace Mennonite church, Rev. J. M. Regier officiating. interment at the Pleasant Ridge cemetery. — Pandora (Ohio) Times.
