. . .

— Mrs. P. D. Claassen of Newton left Friday night for Beatrice, Neb., in answer to a message saying that her nephew, Paul Claassen, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Claassen of Beatrice, had died the result of an injury received when he jumped from a hay mow and fell on the handle of a pitchfork, Thursday evening.

Mrs. Paul Bartsch of this city, another aunt of the boy, and her children had arrived in Beatrice Wednesday morning for a visit. She was writing a letter to Mr. Bartsch when the accident occurred.

The lad died a short time after the accident at a hospital where he had been rushed. He would have graduated from high school this year, and had planned to teach next year, and later to work his way through college. His uncle Albert Penner, taught in Hesston college, Hesston, two years ago. Funeral services will be held Sunday. — Newton Kansan.
