Newton and Vicinity

Funeral services were held at the First Church of the Nazarene here last Friday morning for Mrs. Margot G. Wiens, 63, who died Feb. 23 at Axtell Christian Hospital after a brief illness. Rev. L. L. Donaldson officiated at the service. Mrs. Wiens, widow of Henry Wiens, and her family came to the Goessel community from Germany in 1950. She moved to Newton in 1966, and was employed as a nurse aide at Bethel Home for Aged. She was a member of the Alexanderwohl Church. Surviving are two sons, Fred of Meade and Hal of West Des Moines, Iowa; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Baker of Centreville, Iowa; a sister in Germany; and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Henry Wiens

Mrs. Margot G. Wiens, 63, of 214 SE 3rd, died this morning at Axtell Christian Hospital.

Mrs. Wiens was born Dec. 26, 1908 in Danzig, Germany, the daughter of Bruno and Gertrude Perlewitz of Germany. She was a nurses aide at Bethel Home for the Aged.

Mrs. Wiens moved to the Goessel area from Germany in 1950 and in 1966 moved to Newton. She was a member of Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church. Her husband, Henry, died in 1945.

Survivors include 2 sons, Fred of Meade and Hal of West Des Moines, Iowa; 1 daughter, Mrs. Robert (Carmen) Baker of Centreville, Va. and 1 sister, Mrs. Christel Bandholz of Germany.

Services will be held at 1st Church of the Nazarene at 10 a. m. Friday. Rev. L. L. Donaldson will officiate and burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Petersen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
