Viola M. Duerksen
HESSTON — Viola M. Duerksen, 91, died Sunday (Aug. 28, 1994) at Schowalter Villa Retirement Community.
She was born Oct. 3, 1902, in Moundridge to John J. Krehbiel and Anna Stucky Krehbiel. She married George N. Duerksen on June 14, 1931, in Moundridge. He survives.
A Hesston resident for 11 months, moving from Wichita, she was a retired school teacher having taught in the Spring Hill and Moundridge school district. She was a member of the Lorraine Avenue Mennonite Church in Wichita.
Other survivors include one son, Don R. of Rose Hill; one daughter, Nancy L. Glass of Houston; two sisters, Edna Young of LaCrosse and Ruth Krehbiel of Moundridge; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10 a. m. Wednesday at the First Mennonite Church of Christian in Moundridge with the Rev. Don Steelberg officiating. Burial will be in the First Mennonite Church Cemetery in Moundridge.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p. m. Tuesday at Harder-Kaufman Funeral Home in Moundridge.
