H. J. NICKEL OF HILLSBORO MEETS TRAGIC DEATH FRIDAY

H. J. Nickel, a member of the Bruderthal Church northeast of Hillsboro, met a most tragic death last Friday when he was gored by a bull in a corral adjacent to the barn on his farm. His mangled body was found by members of the family at about 5:00 P. M. No additional details of the tragedy have been learned here yet. It appears however that the enraged bull attacked Mr. nickel when he entered the corral to look after feed for the stock.

Mr. Nickel was a progressive farmer, well-beloved by all in his community. He was Superintendent of the Sunday school of the Bruderthal Church and recently declined to accept a call to become a minister of the congregation. He was always actively interes4e in the work of the Chuch and of missions. He was secretary of the board of the Hillsboro Bible Academy. His wife is a sister of Missionary P. W. Penner of India. Mr. Nickel leaves his widow, a son, and three daughters to mourn his early and tragic death. He was 55 years old being born Oct. 29 1873. He has many friends and relatives who mourn his death.

Funeral services will be held at the Bruderthal church Thursday, Nov. 8, at 1:30 P. M. Many Newton people will attend the funeral.
