Ernest B. Mueller, 43, well-known farmer of the Newton-Halstead area, died Saturday at Bethel Hospital here after a long illness. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the First Mennonite Church of Halstead by Rev. Arnold E. Funk, the pastor, and Dr. D. C. Wedel of Winfield. In addition to his farming interests Mr. Mueller had worked at the ASCS office in Newton. Survivors include his widow, the former Ruth Quiring, three daughters and one son, all of the home, one brother and four sisters. | |||

Ernest B. Mueller, 43, well-known farmer of the Newton-Halstead area, died Saturday at Bethel Hospital here after a long illness. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the First Mennonite Church of Halstead by Rev. Arnold E. Funk, the pastor, and Dr. D. C. Wedel of Winfield. In addition to his farming interests Mr. Mueller had worked at the ASCS office in Newton. Survivors include his widow, the former Ruth Quiring, three daughters and one son, all of the home, one brother and four sisters.

Ernest B. Mueller
Ernest B. Mueller, 43, Route 1, Newton, died Saturday at Bethel Deaconess Hospital after a long illness.
He was born April 24, 1922 [sic] at Deer Creek, Okla., and had been a resident of the Halstead-Newton area most of his life.
He farmed and worked for the ASCS office in Newton.
He married Ruth Quiring in August, 1945 in Goessel.
Mr. Mueller was a member of the 1st Mennonite Church of Halstead.
In addition to his widow, survivors include three daughters, Joan, Elaine and Tricia, and a son, James, all of the home; his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Mueller of Halstead; one brother, J. H. of Halstead; four sisters, Amelia Mueller and Mrs. Ralph Ewy of Halstead, Mrs. Charles Schaum of Hesston and Mrs. Robert Stucky of McPherson.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p. m. at the Halstead Mennonite Church. The Revs. Arnold E. Funk and D. C. Wedel will officiate and burial will be in Restlawn Gardens of Memory. The body will lie in state at Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead.
The family suggest memorial contributions to the cancer fund.
