Fatal Auto Accidents During Past Week in Indiana

MISS MARY J. SPRUNGER AND REV. EDWIN O. HABEGGER ARE THE VICTIMS

Automobile accidents in Indiana, which happened early last week, claimed the lives of Miss Mary J. Sprunger, 73, of Berne, Ind., and Rev. Edwin O. Habegger, 53, of Celina O., but formerly also of Berne.

Miss Sprunger was injured fatally when the car in which she and her companions were riding collided with another car two miles east of Bluffton, Ind. Several others were dangerously injured in the same accident. Funeral services for Miss Sprunger were held at the Berne Mennonite church, Dr. C. H. Suckau officiating.

Rev. Habegger, formerly of Berne but now of Celina, O., a minister of the Evangelical church, died on his 53rd birthday from injuries he received while on the way home with his family. The car, driven by his son, skidded into a tree.

The older son, Orlyn, 18, was driving and his mother was sitting at his side, while Rev. Habegger and the younger son, Arthur Dale, 13, occupied the rear seat.

Ivan Habegger of Berne, Ind., was the only member of the Habegger family able to attend Rev. Habegger's funeral, since all other members were patients in the Wells county hospital.
