Two Injured Fatally Last Sunday On Way to Newton

TIRE BLOWOUT CAUSED CRASH ON HIGHWAY BETWEEN WHITEWATER AND NEWTON

Death again stalked the highway last Sunday night when Herman Ingold, 35, and his sister, Mrs. Tom Robinson, 27, were killed in an automobie accident south of Newton. Mrs. Herman Ingold and Tom Robinson were boh seriously injured. The two couples were on the way to Newton to attend the Enz-Harms wedding at the First Mennontie church when the tragedy occurred. The car crashed into a culvert as the result of a tire blowout. Both couples lived in Wichita but were on the way to Newton via Whitewater, where they had visted their reltives. The double funeral was to be held this afternoon at the Emmaus church and burial made at the Swiss cemetery. The two fatally injured were cousins of the groom, John Harms. The accident has cast a feeling of deep sorrow and sympathy over the community here and at Whitewater.
