Mrs. Helene Harder was born on January 6, 1864, in West Prussia. Her parents were Jacob and Renathe Wiebe. But she was deprived of her mother when her live numbered only a few days. The re-marriage of her father supplemented her loss.

Her education she received in a village school, and later in a higher institution. At the age of 15 she received baptism.

In 1890 her parents and family emigrated to this country. After three years she was united in marriage with Mr. Bernhard Harder who died in 1904. This union was blessed with four daughters and one son, who died in early infancy. The oldest daughter, Justina (Mrs. John H. Regier of Elbing) preceded her to the Heavenly abode in 1919, and Minnie (Mrs. John Reimer) after a long siege of sickness was called to her heavenly reward in 1928.

Ever since this time, Mrs. Harder's health gradually failed, until she succumbed. She passed away on August 18.

She lived for 66 years, 7 months and 13 days. Her loving kindness will be remembered by two daughters, four sons-in-law, 12 grandchildren, five sisters, and five brothers, and many friends.

Funeral services were held at the Emmaus Mennonite Church on Thursday afternoon, august 21, and interment was made in the private Harder cemetery on her farm. &#8212; Whitewater Independent.

LOCAL

— Funeral services for Mrs. Helene Harder were held at the Emmaus church last Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Harder passed from this life in at Excelsior Springs, Mo., where she had gone hooping to improve her failing health. She reached the age of 66 years.

Mrs. Helene Harder
