Sarah H. Janzen, nee Schroeder, daughter of John and Marie Schroeder was born Nov. 24, 1857 in Alexanderwohl, South Russia. In 1874 she migrated with her parents to America, where they settled in Kansas, not far from the present site of Goessel.
In 1876 she was baptized upon the confession of her faith by the Elder Jacob Buller, and received as member of the Alexanderwohl Church. May 2, 1882 she was united in marriage with Jacob H. Janzen.
