ETTJE SCHMIDT ZWEIACHER

Ettje Schmidt Zweiacher was born July 21, 1885 in Lennox, S. D. and died Feb. 28, 1963 in the Sunset Rest Home, El Reno, Okla. bringing her span of life to 77 years, eight months and seven days. Her parents were Enno and Hilka [sic Hilke] Schmidt.

In 1903 the family moved to Oklahoma where they settled on a farm near Okarche.

On August 12, 1905 mother entered holy matrimony with Jacob Zweiacher. This union was blessed with eight children of whom one daughter, Marie Elizabeth, preceded her into eternity in 1907.

Mother was a member of the great throng of unsung heroes , our pioneer mothers, who along with their husbands bore the burdens and rigors of early pioneer life. Father passed from this life on Jan. 16, 1962. Both parents were members of the Mennoville Mennonite Church.

She leaves to mourn her departure two daughters, Hilda, Mrs. Vern Nice, and Bertha, Mrs. M. G. Smith, both of Edmond, Okla; five sons, Edward of Prague, Okla., Enno, Fred, John, and Raymond of El Reno, Okla.; one sister, Mrs. Ilka Wehmuller, El Reno, Okla.; three brothers, John Schmidt of Santa Rosa, Calif.; Albert Schmidt of Yermo, Calif., and Herman Schmidt of Tulsa; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held March 3, 1963 in the Church of the Nazarene in El Reno with Rev. Henry Hege officiating and Rev. I. Emmert assisting. Interment was in the Mennoville Cemetery.
