ELMA SHOUP ZUERCHER

Elma Shoup Zuercher was born on Feb. 18, 1906, to Frank and Katie Baumgartner Shoup, near Beech City, Ohio. She passed away April 5, 1957, at her home south of Orrville, Ohio, aged 51 years, one month and 17 days.

As a young girl she accepted Christ as her Savior. On Dec. 4, 1930, she was married to Enos Zuercher, who survives. This union was blessed with one daughter, Ruth (Mrs. Laverne Shetler) who resides at the home, and one grandson Reuben. Also surviving besides her family and parents are four brothers and three sisters, Lloyd, Melvin, Ada and Dorothy, all of Beech City, O. Erma (Mrs. Carl Tinsler) of Marshallville, O., Clayton of Orrville, and Orin of Dalton, Ohio. One sister Gladys preceded her in death.

During the past six years she bore her afflictions with patience. By her patience in suffering she often gave courage to those about her and those who visited her.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, April 7, from Des Voignes Funeral Home, Mt. Eaton, Ohio and the Kidron Mennonite Church, with Rev. Milton Hostetler, Rev. Paul Miller, and Rev. Reuben Hofstetter officiating. Burial was made in the church cemetery.
