MENNO S. ZOOK

Menno S. Zook, son of John and Fannie (Lantz) Zook, was born in Champaign county, Ohio March 21, 1862; passed away at his home near La Junta, Colo. Sept. 18, 1951, age 81 years, five months, and 27 days, after an illness of five months. He was the last of a family of eight.

At the age of 21 he went to Missouri, near Garden City. There he was married to Saloma Zook on Dec. 27, 1887. In 1906 they moved near La Junta, Colo. where he lived most of the time until he passed away. His wife died May 21, 1928. Since that time he had lived with his only daughter.

Surviving is the daughter, Iva, Mrs. John Kiser; two grandchildren, Velma, Mrs. John Evers, and Lloyd Kiser; four great grandchildren, Evelyn and Imogene evers [sic], Clark and Joanell Kiser, besides relatives and many friends.

He accepted Christ as his Saviour in youth and united with the Mennonite church, remaining a faithful member until his death. His place in church was seldom vacant as long as health permitted.

Funeral services were held at the East Holbrook church and burial in the adjoining cemetery, Sept. 20, 1951.
