REUBEN J. YUTZY

Reuben J. Yutzky, son of Jonas and Mary (Miller) Yutzy, was born in Holmes county, Ohio, on March 26, 1884, and died at the St. Elizabeth hospital, Hutchinson, Kansas, Nov 21, 1947, age 63 years seven months and 25 days. Death resulted from heart trouble and dropsy. He had been about his daily duties until just a few weeks before his death.

On March 1, 1910, he was married to Catherine Troyer, who survives. Also surviving are five sons, Clarence of Kutch, Colo., Mahlon of Hutchinson, Ivan, Reuben, Paul and Gilbert Ray, at home; six daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Mary) Ebersole of Birchtree, Mo., Mrs. Harold (Bertha) Campbell of Waynesboro, Va., Gladys, Ada, Stella and Erma at home; and 10 grandchildren. The children were all present for the funeral except Mrs. Campbell.

He also leaves two brothers, Joseph of Hutchinson and John of Conway Springs, Kansas; five sisters, Mrs. David (Mary) Miller of Hutchinson, Mrs. Anna (Fanny) Graber of Barrs Mills, Ohio, Mrs. W. T. (Mattie) Yoder of Yoder, Kansas, Mrs. Simon (Susan) Schlabach of Fredericksburg, Ohio, and Mrs. Sam (Elizabeth) Schrock of Molalla, ore. One brother and one sister preceded him in death.

As a young man, he united with the church, although his health did not permit him to attend services for a number of years. He was very much interested in the doctrine of the church and the welfare of his children.

Funeral services were held at the Yoder Mennonite church, Yoder, Kansas, on Nov. 25, in charge of Harry A. Diener and L. J. Miller. Text, Amos 4:12b.
