Mrs. I. J. Yoder

On the evening of August 17, 1830 [sic 1930], the Death Angel entered the home of brother and sister I. J. Yoder, and through His infinite loce [sic] and mercy called Mrs. Yoder, who had been a grewat, but patient sufferer, to a home in heaven, where suffering is not know.

Saloma (Zook, daughter of Benjamin and Fannie Zook, was born August 15, 1960 [sic 1860], in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania. When a small girl, with her parents, she moved to Champaign county, Ohio.

On December 15, 1879, she was married to Isaac J. Yoder. This union was blessed with two sons and five daughters, namely, Benjamin of Spokane, Washington; Ervin of Cable, Ohio; Mrs. Fannie Moose, of Lawrence county, Pennsylvania, (who passed away February 8, 1920); Mrs. Charles Kauffman, of Emithville [sic Smithville] , Ohio; Mrs. Otis Kauffman, of West Liberty, Ohio; Mrs. Elmer Yoder, of Springfield, Ohio, and Lizzie Mae at home, who with seventeen grandchildren and one great=grandchild are left to mourn her departure.

She united with the Mennonite church in her early life and lived a consistent Christian life through all her years, which numbered 70 years and 2 days. She was much concerned about her Christian welfare and was always found at the house of worship as long as health permitted. During her sickness she much enjoyed having her friends come in to sing, read God's word and pray with her.
