IOWA YOUNG MAN DIED OF ELECTRIC SHOCK IN WATER-FILLED BASEMENT

Kalona, Iowa. — Funeral services were held at the Fairview church near here on July 14 for Ray O. Yoder, 25, who was electrocuted in his water filled basement while trying to connect an electric pump. Services were in charge of Noah Miller, Jake Miller, and E. G. Swartzendruber.

Bro. Yoder was preparing to pump out the basement, which had several feet of water in it following a heavy rain, when the accident occurred. He called to his wife to shut off the current, but he died before she could do so.

His wife and one son, Verton, and his parents survive. he had served as Sunday school superintendent at the Fairview church for several years.
