PETER A. YODER

Peter A. Yoder, son of Aaron Yoder and Magelina [sic Magdalena} Kauffman Yoder, was born Aug.20, 1874 in Lagrange County, Ind. He reached the age of 86 years, 11 months, and six days.

He was married to Nancy Yoder on Nov. 7, 1897 near Mylo, N. D. They were married for almost 64 years.

He leaves to mourn his departure, seven sons, Jerry and Fred of Wolford, N. D., Richard of Mylo, N. D., Neil and Otis of Minot, N. D., Harvey of Topeka, ind. and Ottis of Ogema, Minn.; five daughters, (Gertrude) Mrs. Fred Rheinheimer, Shipshewana, Ind., (Sylvia) Mrs. Earl Martin, (Mildred) Mrs. Durbin Zook, Minot, N. D., (Bertha) Mrs. Lawrence Unruh, Hesston, Kan., and (Sadie) Mrs. Lawrence King of Blountstown, Fla., 65 grandchildren, 77 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Abe of Lagrange, Ind. and Tobe of Kokomo, Ind.

He was a charter member of the Lakeview congregation near Wolford, N. D. He transferred his membership to the Fairview Mennonite Church near Surry [sic Surrey], N. D. in 1945 when they moved to this community, where they lived at the time of his death.

In his early life he came to North Dakota and homesteaded near Mylo. He was a farmer most of his life, retiring in 1945.

He had great interest in the affairs of the church, especially in visiting the sick, and when deaths occurred in the community he was always present to help.

Funeral services were in charge of Floyd Kauffman at Surry [sic Surrey] Mennonite Church, and at Wolford, N. D. by Eli Hostetler and John Stoll.
